Poll-Ole-GI SUDOE partner The French National Center for Scientific Research in Chizé (CNRS-CEBC) works with farmers to reduce pesticide pressure on pollinators.
35 farmers participate in scientific research to reduce the use of herbicides and fertilizers in field borders of oleaginous crops. Experimentation is part of the Poll-Ole-GI’s objective of improving pollinator habitat and therefore pollination. In the spring 2018, at the sowing time of the sunflower, other fields and farmers will enter the project. A total of 76 fields will be monitored by a CNRS team, with trapping of insects, the study of the flora, the coring of the soil and the impact on the yield and the quality of the grain will be studied at the end on the season.
